GENEROSITY

Giving to the cause of Christ

We practice a generous spirit by offering our financial gifts like the first Christians did. Jesus said that where your treasure is, that’s where your heart will be. Generosity shows that. Tithing (giving 10% of one’s income/commerce) was the Jewish standard, but Jesus brought a better covenant, and so generosity isn’t based on a percentage or set amount, but on the heart that gives cheerfully, voluntarily and sacrificially. Many Christians still practice tithing as a good baseline. Giving supplies the needs of God’s people, and funds God’s work locally and globally.

We don’t ask our new guests to contribute, and we have no denominational sources of income – we rely completely on our church members.

The privilege of partnering with God in his work

If you’re new to Southpoint, please don’t feel any obligation to give, although you’re welcome to do so. The offering is for those who consider Southpoint their church home. For Christ followers, giving is a way of contributing to the cause of Christ. It is an act of worship through giving back to God in proportion to how He’s given to us. We enjoy giving because we know it’s going to meet needs and make a difference in a variety of ways, especially for those who need to know the Good News of Jesus!

READY TO GIVE?

Choose from one of the options below

Give Online Any Time

You can give one time without logging in, or set up recurring gifts when you create an account.

This is also where anyone can view their giving history and print tax statements.

Your login is the same one that is used for Group management, event registration, and various other features.

Give During Services

You can also give during services when the collection buckets are passed: with a check, or use a “giving envelope” for cash. Or look to your bank for an online “bill pay” option. It’s typically a convenient free service where you can designate Southpoint as the recipient on a weekly, monthly or one-time basis. If you’d like pre-paid envelopes to mail back, just write us a note on your Connection Card, and we’ll get them to you.
