4 Facts of Life

God created us because He desires to have a relationship with us, both now and in Heaven.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

Because we knowingly disobey and reject God’s will (sin), we have chosen to break the bonds of fellowship with Him. While God loves us, He hates sin. So to continue in this lifestyle leads to eternal separation – hell is as real as heaven.

But the trouble is that your sins have cut you off from God.Isaiah 59:2

For the wages of sin is death…;– Romans 6:23

Our relationship with God is not restored by anything we do, but on the basis of what Jesus already did for us on the cross – dying as the sacrifice in our place. It cannot be earned. We can never make up for our sin by mere self-improvement, good works, or even religious acts.

God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus… is between them to bring them together, by giving his life for all mankind.1 Timothy 2:4-6

Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. Only by trusting in Jesus as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Those who became Christians in the early church followed this pattern and we do the same today.

Believe In Jesus

Acknowledge Him as God’s Son and ask Him to be your personal forgiver and leader.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9-10

Repent

Turn away from sin; change your direction by doing a U-turn to begin following Christ.

Be Baptized

When you are immersed in water, you are united with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection, and receive His presence and power for living a God-pleasing life.

Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Acts 2:38
